![]() Of course, since I haven’t actually looked through the history of P.J., I don’t know if his first appearance was also in Goof Troop, but I am going to assume that it was because it makes sense that since Max was a growing boy at the time, that he would also end up having a best friend that was his age too.Īnyways, what I like about their friendship is that both Max and P.J. happens to be the son of Pete, he isn’t anything like his father, but is actually a nice, sweet and pretty cool friend to have. I have to admit, that I am also fond of Max’s friendship with Pete Jr. Also, since Max was 14, meaning he was in his adolescent stage, the boy wasn’t as close to Goofy as he use to be since he was trying to be more independent. ![]() I mean, in A Goofy Movie, the film starts literally with Max having a dream turned into nightmare because he feared that being similar to his dad would make this girl he liked, Roxanne, not like him. In fact, as he grew older, being similar to his dad was something Max was quite embarrassed to admit. But Max has a lot of his father’s traits as well! Then again, it has been said that sometimes Max was a lot like Pete whereas Pete Jr. He of course, is also shown to get himself into trouble, whether it’s because he ended up believing something that Pete had told him or just happened to find himself in a situation along with his best friend and friends little sister.Īnd speaking of Pete, Max tends to listen to him all of the time even though he probably should have known better than to listen to him, no matter if Pete was his best friends dad. Which is understandable, since in one of the episodes it had implied that Max’s mom had died and so they mainly had each other. I mean, back in Goof Troop and in Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmas, Max is shown to be quite the mischievous and edger child who was also still very much close and attached to his dad. ![]() Whether it was him as a 7 year old or an 11½, he could still been a kid even while I myself grew up.īut it’s nice to see Max in a different age, because within the different appearances he has had, one can see how much he grew as a character. I mean, seeing how he is Goofy’s son and all, Disney could have just as well made Max stay as a little kid forever. One thing that I love about Max is the fact that out of every Classic Disney character that we know about, aka Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy and even Donald’s nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, is the fact that he actually ages. Personally though, I like to see him as either a 14 year old, or as a 19 year old since I like his look in A Goofy Movie and in House of Mouse the best. Lastly, he was also in Mickey’s Twice Upon A Christmas, which to the assumption of others, he might have been 23 by the time that film came out which was on 2004. There, he looked to either still be 18 years old or even a year older, 19. Max was also shown to be among the cast who worked in Disney’s House of Mouse, which was also another cartoon series that lasted from 2001 to 2003. who happens to be Max’s best friend, his daughter Pistol and lastly his wife, Peg. ![]() Similar to the Goofy shorts that showed him as a father, the series mainly focused on the father and son relationship between Goofy and Max, while also having other Disney characters like Pete, his son Pete Jr. was Goofy’s official son for that time until the 1992 cartoon TV series, ‘Goof Troop’ came out, which is where the first official appearance of the Max that I fell in love with, appeared.Īs for what Goof Troop is, as stated before, it’s a cartoon series that appeared in 1992 and lasted until 1993. or whether Disney decided to scrap that idea for Goofy’s son before eventually making Max (but of course using Goofy Jr. Now to be honest, whether Max truly use to be Goofy Jr. Technically the first time Max was ever seen, it was in one of the 1951 Disney shorts, ‘Fathers Are People,’ and in that short he wasn’t even known as Max, but rather as Goofy Jr.
